Steve Fossett's identity cards were found in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California, a year after his disappearance, and the wreckage of his plane was found shortly afterwards. The only remains of his body were two large bones, found about half a mile from the crash site. The rest had presumably been eaten and/or scattered by wild animals.
